The 15th of March was a day that built teams like never seen before. Ten schools gathered in Eagle’s Nest for the annual sports day competition. Students from ENCS, PEPPS, MEPS, MECS, Mitchell House, Kings Court, Maseala, Rabboni, Ridgeway, and Veritas competed in debate, chess, table tennis and soccer. Due to renovations of the netball and volleyball courts, netball and volleyball were postponed to the 12th of April.
Starting with debate, the ENCS junior team brought home bronze medals after securing third place with the two teams from MECS securing first and second place. Moving on to chess, in the junior division, we had ENCS in third place with PEPPS in first and Ridgeway in second. For the seniors, PEPPS came in first, Maseala came in second, and Ridgeway came in third.
ENCS dominated the table tennis competition with both the senior and junior teams coming in first place. On the soccer field, the U/15 team for ENCS scored third place with Maseala in first place and Kings Court in second. For the U/19, we had Maseala in first place, MECS in second, and Rabboni in third.
We would like to thank all the schools that participated and the teachers who made the fun filled day possible. The food sold by our leaders was delicious, and the snacks and refreshment were also delightful. To all the players that gave their all, always remember Mary Lou Retton’s words, “A trophy carries dust; memories last forever.”
