  • IBT Examinations

Eagles Nest Christians School wrote the International Benchmark Tests every year to ensure we keep up with the International standards. This is a world-class, skills-based diagnostic assessment designed by a global expert to help improve school learning. The IBT is not tied to a specific curriculum, allowing for fair comparisons between students across schools and worldwide, and content is updated every year. This year, we had the following learners who did exceptionally well.

  • Eagles clinch the senior debate mayors cup

The Eagles Nest senior debate team emerged victorious in a heated showdown against Stanford Lake College, securing the prestigious Mayor’s Cup. Among more than 25 participating schools in the annual Polokwane Executive Mayor’s Cup, several were eliminated in the preliminary rounds. Despite formidable competition from schools like Capricorn High School, Veritas, and PEPPS, the Eagles persevered, ultimately defeating Stanford Lake College in the finals. Ruth Phiri’s eloquence earned her the title of best speaker in both the semi-finals and the finals.
Reflecting on their journey, Dr. Mac van den Berg, the executive principal, remarked, “Since our debut in the Mayor’s Cup in 2010, our senior team has consistently excelled, securing the trophy in 8 consecutive years from 2011 to 2016, and now in 2022-2023.” Expressing gratitude for the victory, Dr. van den Berg extended appreciation to God, the debate coach, teachers, and the debaters for their outstanding dedication and effort.
